You'll have to go
through me first!

Glenn noted as people rallied
behind him. He drew Caliburn, and it was as if it was a breath of fresh
air. He somehow felt weaker, all the strength he had gained during the
war was gone. He felt as though he lost what he was fighting for.

I'll give you one more chance, leave!

The
pirates inched closer until the two planks collided together creating a
bridge between the two ships. All the while, cannonballs were being
fired from the ship causing considerable damage to the exterior of the
boat, but supposedly because of its magical properties did not penetrate
into the inner workings of the ship.

We need to stop those cannons!

A Hylian
Pirate(or some similar race, as he was a darker skin tone than a normal
Hylian.) charged up to Glenn and attempted to bring his cutlass down on
him. Glenn charged, attempting to be a little faster than him, and
punched him in the stomach, causing him to drop the cutlass onto the
deck as Glenn split open his side and kicked him off board.

Don't give up, this'll be easy!

"Vess, go into the
hold. The last thing I want is--"

"But I think I'm needed
up here--"

"Now, Vess, maybe we should
consider the Goron's very wise advice."

"Hello? They're
pounding the hull! WITH CANNONS!"

Maximus
was already off, though. Is Vess wanted to go into the hold was up to
whether she wanted to listen to Pivlic's whining. Mjolnir was out in a
hurry and Maximus was right behind Glenn as the boards underneath them
creaked under the strain.

At once, Maximus missed the Moblins
and other foul beasts that had made up Ganon's legion. Monsters had the
immense physical strength to make combat interesting. After Maximus sent
a few poor Hylians flying, they realized that the strange being was far
stranger than they.

"Alright,
yeh sons of whores!"
screamed a very
odd looking Pirate. He was clean and whole, with two arms, eyes, and
legs. His cloths were very practical, and head was covered by a straw
hat.

He was shouting now, and two pirates attacked Maximus.
Maximus took a step forward to meet his opponents, and the Straw hat
fired a projectile at Maximus, which hit him with astonishing force, and
staggered him. The next thing he knew, he was dangling in the air.

"Oh, dodongo shit."

(Max is dangling
by a crane. Also, Straw hat had a flint lock. So having him fire it
again doesn't make any sense.)

Quint was felt relieved as he heard the sound of cannons firing stop for
a while, barely understanding the demands from the Captain of the other
ship.

However, just as Quint was about to open the door, once
again the ship started to shake and the sound of cannons roaring started
once more.

"Argh...Why Glenn
did you have to piss off a pirate who has a bunch of massive cannons at
his disposal? Geez...stay here. Better you hide than get captured when
we're boarded..."
Quint told Lilah, who although was able to
help, agreed with him and stayed in the room while Quint locked the door
from the outside and ran up to the deck.

-----

"Aww well...I WAS thinking of helping you
out of that bottle of yours there, but I don't think I will now...eh,
what the hell. Like I care,"
Hob replied to the fairy, as
flew to the other side of the room.

"One...two...THREE!"
Hob said aloud, as he threw himself at the bottle in the hopes of
knocking it over...which he did...just...it didn't smash.

"...Bugger..."

-----

Quint
jumped up the last couple steps to find pirates swinging themselves
over and clashing with the crew on the ship. rather than join in the
fight, Quint got himself to the side of the ship, and punched an
oncoming pirate who was aiming his gun, or boom stick, as Quint decided
to name it, towards his face. He grabbed the rope with his left hand as
he tried to catch the boom stick with his other, only to watch it fall
into the water with the screaming pirate.

Disappointed he
couldn't catch it, jumped onto wooden barricade and jumped, rope in
hand. At first it look like Quint was gonna swing right to the other
ships deck, but instead, was heading for the hull...

Cursing,
Quint went swung right into the hull, though luckily enough, he managed
to slide himself into one of the openings for the cannons, where they
had pulled it back to reload.

Unfortunately however, he found
himself on the floor surrounded by three pirates, armed with cutlasses
only. They all stared at him then pulled their cutlasses out as he got
up. Reaching for Helshezag on his...

"Crap...forgot I lost it...again..." Quint said
aloud, as couple of the pirates began to growl. It seemed Quint was in a
spot of bother now...

Why couldn't it
have been bunnies?

Glenn brought forth Caliburn
onto an incoming pirate as he continued swinging on his rope until he
hit the side of the ship and met a water-y end. Glenn saw Quint go and
jump into an area with the cannons, and shortly after reach to his side
for an apparently invisible sword. Glenn cursed his luck, and drew
Genesis from its sheath, grasping a rope from apparently one of the
pirates that were slaughtered upon boarding the ship and swung over to
the other ship.

Quint, catch!

Glenn
tossed Genesis into the window, having it land sticking vertically out
of the ground in front of Quint. After, he began climbing up the rope,
he was going to attempt to destroy Roberts, without him the crew would
have no orders to receive.

The bottle did indeed fall over and Tyia tumbled around in it like she'd
done several times before already. She groaned loudly once she regained
her composure again and her light flickered in annoyance.

"Well, was that really such a brilliant idea,
genius!?"
she yelled, staring intently in Hobs direction. Being
too focused on giving the other fairy the evil eye, she failed to notice
that the bottle was beginning to move. It was slowly but steadily
approaching the edge of the table it had been placed on.

Unfortunately,
Tyia didn't really notice until it reached the edge and tipped over.

"GhyaaaaAAAAAH!"

CRASH!

Pieces
of shattered glass scattered across the floor. The fairy had bounced
along the floor a foot away from the crash site. Her wings were idle and
her light was flickering wildly where she rested on the floor.

Groan.
Grumble. Spit. Grumble.

An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 11:59 am

Quint spun round at the sound of his name, and leaned backwards to dodge
and incoming blade that landed right in front of him. As he eyed the
pirates who simply stared back, he slowly moved his hand towards the
handle of the blade and then suddenly yanked it from the floor as the
fight commenced.

The fight was over pretty quickly, as what
happened was that as soon as Quint pulled the sword out, he lunged at
the man in front of him, sinking the blade into the mans throat, then
jumping back as the one on his left attempted to bring his sword down
upon Quint, only to cut the pirate on Quints right, who had tried the
same, from his shoulder to his abdomen. Before the pirate had a chance
to pull his bade out and try again for Quint, Quint's hand lit aflame as
he placed his hand firmly on the pirates face, causing him to let out a
blood curdling scream while Quint looked at the melting pirate flesh
dripping off his hand.

"Lovely..."
Quint exclaimed as he suddenly heard a ringing noise in his head.

"Hob?"

------

"Your welcome..."
Hob said to the fairy, who was now lying on the floor amongst the broken
glass. Unfortunately this had alerted the pirate who had been guarding
the door, and was now coming over to squish the two fairies with his
great big boot. However, to Hob's amazement, the man had barely a chance
to lift his foot once a blade appeared from his stomach, only to
disappear again. As the man fell, Hob saw that it was Quint standing
behind the pirate who had stabbed through him with some new sword he had
got his hands on.

"Hob, when I
told you to go find someone to bug, I did not mean the pirates who are
trying to kill us...who's your friend?"
Quint asked as he
motioned to the beige colored fairy on the floor.

She didn't even bother raising from the floor when the pirate had
entered and had his life ended in the same instance, nor did she really
react when someone else had entered the room and spoken. Her light was
still flickering wildly for some unknown reason and it'd keep doing so
until she finally fluttered her wings and rose from the floor a moment
later.

"It hurt. Just because I
don't bleed it doesn't mean I don't have feelings."
Tyia said
grumpily, momentarily turning in Hobs direction before her attention
drifts to the man standing in the doorway.

"Who's whose friend?" she asked, flickering again
questioningly. However, before Quint had the time to answer, Tyias light
expanded. Her wings faded and her light dropped all the way down to the
floor from where she was hovering, and a few moments later stood a
girl, or young woman, where the fairy had been. Her blue eyes were still
set upon Quint.

Amidst the comotion, one of the pirates had found an opening and was now
heading towards the stairs leading down into the crew's quarters. As
soon as he kicked the door down, a blast of air sent the feeble man
flying overboard, clearing Dietrich's path to the upper deck.

"I guess I won't be getting my beauty sleep
anytime soon..."
he mumbled, letting out a yawn as he looked at
the enemy ship.

A snap of his fingers and a gust of air later,
and the Skullkid found himself wandering the pirate vessel, looking for
anything to amuse himself with while the others cleaned the place up.

Glenn made it to the deck of the Pirate's
ship and stood face to face with the Pirate Captain Roberts. In Robert's
hand was one of the Flint-Lock guns pointed straight at Glenn's chest.
Glenn recalled the power of the gun used on Maximus.

Go ahead, do it.

Roberts
pulled back the trigger, and a powerful shot fired hitting the crane's
rope positioned behind Glenn, causing the whole mechanism to fall
apart(and thus freeing Maximus). Roberts stood in astonishment as his
side split open. Glenn stood behind him, sheathing his blade as a
powerful white light scorched the captain. The captain fell to the
ground as he screamed in pain as the light slowly consumed his body.

That... hurt...

Glenn
grabbed his own arm, grazed by the blast, but not fully. It had broke
the armor, chainmail, and went and grazed the skin. Even then, pirates
approached him, eying their fallen captain.

They all charged at
once, attempting to take Glenn by sheer number. The first pirate was to
his left attempted to slice Glenn vertically, but before he had the
chance, Glenn had grabbed the pirate to his right and threw him into the
one on the offensive. Glenn chuckled slightly as they both fell to
their doom. The Pirate in the middle charged attempting to simply stab
Glenn, but Glenn managed to parry the blow and smack him with the flat
side of Caliburn, causing him to join his friends in the ocean.

Quint raised an eyebrow raised at the fairy
turned humanoid...fairy..thing.

"..I
was talking about you. What ARE you? You know what, I don't even care. I
just want some loot. Now, what have we here..."
Quint said
as he began rummaging through the rest of the cargo in the room, while
Hob groaned as he saw that she wasn't the same kind of fairy as him.

"You know, he may not care, but I
do...what kind of fairy turns into a little girl...?"

Hob asked, staring at her.

Mordecai sped upward and burst through the surf.
He flew up to the crows nest of the pirate ship and alighted there for a
moment to get a better view.

As Glenn was the first person he
saw, Mordecai flew down to railing that was closest to the dead captain
and his slayer.

"Lei lì. Il mio
compatriota mi avrebbe l'informa che egli e Sereph sono via perseguire
un pezzo particolare di..."
Mordecai paused. Glenn was looking at
the small silver dragon with a look of confusion.

Mordecai spoke
under his breath, looking like he was trying to remember something."Che sono le parole... Ah. Yes. That was it. What
an odd tongue you use. Nevertheless, my compatriot would have me inform
the owner of the magical boat, thus meaning you, that him and his Zora
accomplice have gone off to investigate a matter, regarding some
information I passed on to them."
The dragon bowed it's head in a
neutral greeting. "He would also have me
remain in the general vicinity of your boat until further notice, to
help keep himself abreast of the happenings thereof. Should you need to
reach him for any reason, simply contact myself and I can relay the
message for you."

"So. Any questions, or will that be all?"

An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:00 pm

Glenn sighed at the surrounding dead bodies.

It didn't have to end this way...

Glenn
looked at the Captain's remains, and said a prayer for them. He went
down into the Captain's room, and found a giant coffer. Within the
coffer were lumps of rusting iron, no doubt due to the exposure to
water. There was enough for everyone who fought to at least get two
lumps, so Glenn started dragging the chest back over to the boat.

Hey, everyone! It's time to go back over, I don't
think a threat remains, they won't be after the girl any longer...
Well, at least I hope not.

Glenn noticed
something,,, The air changed, and suddenly both boats started rocking,
apparently crashing into reefs hidden underneath the water. Again, the
boat suffered no immediate damage, just the outer wood did.

However,
the pirate ship was utterly ripped apart, and started sinking somewhat
before finally crashing into another ship that happened to suffer the
same fate. Finally, the ship rested upon the reef as Glenn ran to the
wheel in order to turn the ship away from colliding with the other
ships.

This... is like the
Graveyard back in Hyrule. The air is... unsettling. We need to get out
of here as fast as possible.

The ship finally
stopped, but would not move for the wind had seemingly died as soon as
they hit the change in atmosphere. Below them, the waters stirred as the
pirates they had just laid to rest began to climb up the side of both
ships, some with missing body parts, and others fully intact. However,
one pirate in particular caught Glenn's eye. The Pirate Captain Robert
stood up, his skin partially burned off.

Ye thought that death would keep me away from me
lass? Ha! Death has made me stronger!

Glenn heard a
scream as Lilah was taken out by one of Robert's crew, apparently still
alive. His facial expression changed as he saw Robert's state, but
continued forward anyway. As he handed Lilah over to Robert, Robert
turned his cutlass over on the pirate and sliced the right side of his
head clean off. The man, killed instantly, dropped to the ground and
seemingly spasmed for a good while before finally standing back up. A
black light appeared on the floor around the three(Robert, Lilah, and
the newly undead pirate).

Should
ye truly desire this lass, we await you deeper within tha Ship
Graveyard. I would hurry, as her life may not remain very lively for
very long.

They all disappeared, every single crew
member that managed to crawl out of his or her watery grave, along with
Lilah. Glenn shuddered...

We
have to go after her!

Hob still awaited the fairy thing person to answer him, however it
seemed they had ran out of time, as the whole ship felt like it crashed
into something, knocking Quint backwards and seeing a large mast poking
through the cargo wall.

"...Holy
crap that's not good..."
Quint said as he quickly got
himself up on his feet as he grabbed Hob and stuffed him in his breast
pocket once again.

With muffled curses coming from his tunic
pocket Quint jumped up the stairs, but slipped at the last moment as the
whole of the front half of the pirate ship was breaking off. Quint had
fell, but managed to grab hold of the bottom step with his hands.
Although he tried to pull himself up, the fact he was barely holding on
made it far to hard. Even with all his might, his fingers started to
slip, causing Quint to begin plummeting down towards the sea, however
just at the right moment he managed to grab on to a piece of wood that
was sticking out, allowing him to quickly swing into the bottom deck.

He turned around to see the front half of the ship that had
separated sinking into the ocean and then noticed where they were. No
longer were they in the middle of the ocean, but some sort of...ship
graveyard. Their were hundreds of broken old ships lying around, and to
top it off, there was an eerie fog.

Suddenly Quint looked up as
he heard a scream. It wasn't just any scream though, Quint recognized
the voice.

"Lilah!"
Quint shouted as he turned to run up the stairs of what was left of the
ship.

By the time Quint got to the top, he saw the Pirate Captain
making threats, and despite how fast Quint sprinted to jump at them,
Genisis poised to strike at the Pirate, he ended up diving into thin air
as they disappeared into a black light.

"No!" Quint screamed, as he got up and
grabbed a hanging rope and swung himself back over to Glenn's ship.

"Glenn we have to go after them! NOW!"

Maximus had crashed through the deck into
the hold. He lay, looking up at the sun. Pretty. The sun had it made. It
just went through life, doing it's duties, not caring for the conflicts
of the stupid people who depended on it.

"Hey, pal. Could you let me out?"

Maximus
let out a grunt. [/color]

"Just give
me ten more hours."
He whined.

"Come on, man. If your going to leave me here, you
may as well just go so I don't have to suffer looking at your ugly
mug."

Maximus cast an eye up.
He saw a lone man standing in a tiny cell, behind a door of iron bars.
The man was of average height, but very gaunt, and very old, with thin,
ragged silvery gray hair and beard.

"Am I gonna have to stare at your horrific smelling carcass all
day, boy?"

"I guess. If you
want. You can always look away."

The man gave a twisted
sort of smile, and and sat back down. After Maximus
had laid there long enough to make his point, he got up and strode to
the cell. The man was reclining on a hard looking bench that was chained
to the wall. His eyes were covered by a sort of straw hat.

"Well, old man. I guess I may as well get you out
of here."

The man sniffed, but
remained motionless. Maximus just shrugged, and ripped the door out by
it's hinges. He dropped the door, and looked at the man, who didn't
move.

"Aren't you coming?"

"Eh. Now your so keen for me to come with you.
Whats the point?"

Maximus
arched a rocky eyebrow in befuddlement. This geezer was a real nut.

"Fine."

Maximus
walked to the exit.

"Wait,
boy."

Maximus turned around.
The man's hat was on strait, and he was leaning heavily against a stick.

"My knees are real bad. Can you help me up the
stairs?"

Maximus saw the real
panic in his eyes that he would be left on this forsaken ship alone
forever.

"I have a name. It's
Maximus."

"I'm Mordechai."

Maximus took the old man and helped him up the
stairs.

~
"God above, what
is that boy screaming about?"

Maximus
listened.

"One of ours was
captured."

At once, Mayer's
face drained of visible color.

"Oh,
my. We have to get him quick. Right away, yes. Right away."

"Do you know anything about them?"

Mayer's face snapped to face Maximus' his eyes
wild with fear.

"Of course.
What captain hasn't heard of the ship graveyard, and the mariners who
haunt their wretched wrecks until the Almighty returns and smites the
three witches?"

Maximus was
quite taken aback by the man's religion. But for now, what was important
was that the man knew what lay ahead.

"Hey! Glenn! Quint! This guy might know something!"

(For
now I have no idea what will become of Mayer. Just don't kill him)

Glenn requested Laila stay behind and watch
the ship as he went downstairs to explain what happened. He came up to
the deck to find Maximus, Quint, and some old man discussing the
ghoulish creatures. Suddenly, a reflection from the moonlight was
visible for a split second. He immediately pointed at the spot.

Lilah was wearing that ring, right!? That's where
they are! The ring just shot off a reflection!

The
spot seemed to be roughly five ships away, but Glenn could tell it
would be a tough journey. He leaped to the next boat and immediately
crashed through the molding planks. When the dust settled, Glenn was
seen holding on to a sturdy board, below him were a dozen redeads
waiting for him to fall. Their wail seemingly pounded on his ears
constantly, but he managed to resist the temptation to cover his ears
and drop down. He screamed out to his allies.

Go and save Lilah, I'll be fine!

An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:01 pm

Quint sighed as he saw Glenn fall through the
ship he just jumped over to, urging everyone to go on without him.

"Damn it, now I gotta be the hero...Max,
talk to the old man! I'm off to do Hero stuff."
Quint said as
he jumped onto the ship Glenn had fallen through and landed safely next
to the massive hole Glenn and caused, as he ran up the front of the
boat to then jump onto the back of another ships stern, grabbing the
edge with his hands, and swiftly pulling himself up onto it as he began
sprinting once more, being careful not to step into any of the holes and
large cracks in the broken old ships surface.

The flash of
light from Lilah's ring that Glenn had noticed no longer reflected the
moonlight as clouds began to cover the moon in murky darkness, however
Quint had faith that he would reach her if he just kept running in the
one general direction. Unfortunately enough, Quint had reached then end
of this ship, as it was torn in half, and he was now standing on the
jagged edge, and the closest ship was too far for him to jump.

Suddenly
he turned around to the sound of a screaming pirate who was swinging
down from the mast of the ship towards Quint, sword raised. Quint
reacted quickly and threw Genesis at the oncoming pirate, lodging itself
in his chest, however, being undead, this had no real effect. As soon
as the pirate came close enough, Quint grabbed hold of the swords handle
and pulled it upwards, slicing the pirate in two. Grabbing the rope, he
ran to the other end of the ship, to then ran back down towards the
other ship and swung over to it, rolling as he landed to prevent harm to
himself to then begin sprinting again.

Quint could see the
Captain and Lilah now, however there still floated two ships between
them. The next ship was in half, with the jagged end facing Quint. He
had to do this right, or end up with large pieces of wood sticking
through him or even landing in the water. With no time to lost,

Quint
took a leap of faith and landed safely onto the edge, or so he thought,
as the wood beneath him broke off, causing Quint to fall though luckily
caught on to the edge with his hands. With splinters digging into his
hands, he pulled himself up once again.

Sprinting along the deck
like he had every other he launched himself to the next one and landed
softly, continuing his run towards Robert and Lilah. After getting
himself across the last ship that stood between him and Lilah, he jumped
again to land a couple feet in front of Robert. The Captain threw Lilah
to the side, as he poised his unsheathed his blade ready to fight.
Quint, Genesis in his hand, thankful Glenn had gave him a sword to use
once again, and ran towards the undead Captain.

Suddenly, they
clashed, metal striking metal. Quint had tried to slash Robert from
above, however the Captain had blocked it, slid his sword round so
Quints blade flew out his hands, and before Quint had a chance to react,
he found Roberts blade sticking through his gut.

"QUINT!" Lilah screamed, the sound of
her voice echoing across the graveyard.

Looking down, Quint was a
little...shocked to find a sword in his gut. The Captain pulled it out,
and Quint fell to the floor, holding the wound that now had blood now
freely flowing from it.

"....Ow..."
Quint said, as Hob, acting fast, flew out his breast pocket to swiftly
began flying towards everyone else.

An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:01 pm

Dao slowly opened his eyes. "Ugh," he muttered. A sharp pain shot
through his head. He placed his right palm on his forehead. It came back
into his vision, all covered in blood.

"Damn," he swore, as the
throbbing started. It was not a good feeling. He took in his
surroundings. He was being rocked back and forth, his legs were being
dangled over the side of a barrel, his back is sore, and all he saw was
water.

...

"Something's not right," Dao turned his head
around. The ship was behind him. How did he end up there? He heard
shouting and screaming. Faintly, but he definitely heard something.

That's
when he lost his balance and fell into the water. Ah! That's right. He
remembered falling off the side of the ship when the cannons started
firing. Some barrels fell down with him. While he had an urge to take a
hammer to them or leap over the incoming projectiles, he couldn't act in
time. It must've been then when he hurt his head.

Dao reached
the surface. "Ah, it's a good thing I know those spells still," In a
blink, he vanished from the ocean and landed back onto the ship's deck.
"W-What's going on?" he wondered aloud, looking at the pirate corpses
all over the vessel. "...well, it must be a big fight. I'm always late
to those."

"WAIT!

Vess paid no heed to Pivlic. Vess kicked down the
plank and made a bridge the next ship. On the next ship she cut the
bottom of a line. She climbed the line up the mast, and then kicked off.

"This
was a bad ideaaaaaaaaaaa."

She flew
forward, sliding down the line. As the line reached the highest point
of its arc, she let go. Her hands just couldn't deal with the rope burn.

"Oh No..."

She sailed
through the air knowing she would end up as Kokiri jelly upon
impact.... but she wasn't. She hit the sail of the firthest ship with a

Bpppphhhh,
and hung on for dear life.

There was a roar and Vess said an
oath under her breath. She turned around and saw the most ridiculous
creature she had ever seen, an enormous fish with a rotating hat. It had
sharp teeth and a hungry look in it's eye, and it's mouth looked big
enough to swallow her in one bite. Praying for a lucky break, she let go
and dropped on to the deck. There was a yelp. She landed on something
living. Then she felt the floor. She got up. She saw she had landed on a
pirate. Then she saw beside her lay Quint. The weight of her necklace
was never heavier. She didn't have her bag.

"Drat!"

She began to work with out it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sir! Maximus!"
"Hey, Boy, what is that?"
"It's Pivlic. What is it Pivlic?"
"Whats a Pivlic?"
"I'm not a Pivlic?"
"What
is it?"
"What are yeh, then?"
"I'm a fairy."
"But aside from that."
"Pivlic! WHAT IS IT!" Maximus roared.
"Vess is on the pirate ship. She went after
Quintinus."
"What?"
Maximus was off like a shot, hopping from ship to
ship. Pivlic tried his best to keep up.
"Sir! Wait for me!"
Quint lay on his back as Vess tended to his
wound. Quint was staying as still as a rock, constantly being told to do
so by the Kokiri. Robert had took Lilah hostage once again and
teleported to a ship only a leap away.
"Hmph...Bet you never thought you'd catch me on the brink
of death again, did you...? Although...I guess...I am...starting to make
a habit of it. You know, I think he...got me the same place Naraku did.
I can't see...can you? Think I might cover it up...with a sheet of
metal....Heh...that'l show the...next guy who stabs me in the gut..."
Quint coughed and spluttered, struggling to speak. Although Vess had
put pressure on the wound and slowed the blood loss, Quint had lost a
large amount of blood in the time it took her to get there.
"Say...I don't remember
everything...getting...dark.....last time...Is that...bad...?..."
As Quint got his words out, he was struggling to keep his head up, let
alone move his mouth. He then lay his head down, and closed his eyes, no
longer conscious, however his heart still continued to beat, showing
signs of life.
--------
Hob was amazed at how fast Vess
had shot off as soon as he mentioned Quint was in danger. It was as if
she actually cared about him. With no energy to go flying back,
he hovered over to Vess' fairy who had stayed behind, and overheard his
conversation with the old man and Max, only to see the Goron roar and
shoot of just as fast as Vess, if not faster.
"Wow...everyone's in a hurry tonight. Don't
you think?"
Hob wondered aloud to Pivlic and the old
man.
An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle
Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:02 pm
Glenn had been hanging from the one wooden
board as the redead below him screeched and wailed. As Maximus jumped on
the ship in a hurry, the wooden plank snapped from the sheer shockwave
he created in his haste.
Oh
crap...
Glenn was on the ground, face to face with
at least fifteen Redead. They all wailed in unison, halting Glenn's
movements as they shambled forward. They walked as slow as they possibly
could, as if attempting to torment Glenn. Glenn struggled to get up and
pointed his right palm at them, as if signaling them to halt.
You didn't really think it'd be that easy, did
you?
A powerful gust erupted from his hand, causing
the Redead to fly back and crash through the boat into the water. As
all the Redead sank into the water, they stared at him as he disappeared
into the wind.
A few seconds later, he was next to Quint.
I can't leave you alone for like five minutes,
huh?
Glenn looked to the adjacent ship from them to
see Roberts and Lilah.
Well
wait a minute... Where's the crew?
The boat started
rocking back and forth atop the coral reef as the crew they had just
recently killed climbed up the sides. They slowly formed a circle around
Quint, Vess, and Glenn as if attempting to halt them, rather than kill
them.
Glenn drew Caliburn, eying the crew as the inched forward.
Glenn stabbed the undead pirate in front of him in the head, which had
no immediate effect. Suddenly, Caliburn's blade burst into flames,
seemingly killing the pirate once and for all.
All the pirates
charged, but Glenn's main objective was to protect Vess and Quint. He
took a defensive stance and used Spin attack to set most of them on fire
as they staggered back and dropped to the ground. All except one had
been caught in the attack, and he was about to cleave Vess and Quint in
two. Glenn shouted out.
NO!
Glenn
charged and tackled the pirate as he brought down his blade, causing
the pirate to strike Glenn in the back as they both fell off the ship
onto the coral reef inbetween the ships. The undead pirate was dead, as
he had absorbed most of the shock from the fall.Unfortunately, Glenn was
tired, and lied motionless on the ground.
Back on the deck of
the ship where Vess was tending to Quint's wounds, five pirates stood
back up, and inched closer to Vess and Quint.
"Oh, no."
Vess
looked up from Quint to see five undead pirates walking toward her.
Moving Quint might kill him. How he was still mumbling sarcastic
comments coherently was beyond her. She knew that trying to fight them
wouldn't be the best idea. She looked back. It was too far to jump to
the next ship.
She knew that if she ran to save her life, no one
would hold it against her. But she stayed put, because she didn't have
any room to run to. She wasn't strong enough to pull Glenn up, or even
fend off these zombies.
She darted forward, towards the zombies,
and pulled out her knife. She darted in between the Zombie's legs, and
knicked his ankle as she went, hoping that even the undead would need
their tendons to walk. It seemed to, at least. It fell. She had the
distinct feeling that if she stabbed any arteries, that trick wouldn't
have worked. She glanced back at her patient. Quint was lying on the
floor, and the blood was pooling quickly in her scrap of cloth she havd
been attempting to use to stop the bleeding.
The others
started to shuffle at her. She began to dart forward, but there ones
were shorter than the other ones. One grabbed her arm, and the others
began to grab various flailing appendages. She screamed and flailed. One
preceded to bare it's teeth, and lifted her to take a bite... When
suddenly it's head wasn't there anymore. One of the arm's grasping her
wasn't attached to it's original owner
She scampered behind
Maximus, who was using his Axe to slice the fiends limb from limb. He
motioned at Quint, and she ran back to his side. She could still do
little for him. None the less, if his stab wound could be controlled,
maybe he could be healed with a red potion?
Dao breathed a sigh in relief. A huge mass just barreled past him,
nearly running him over in the process. It continued to leap from boat
to boat an--Wait, is that Maximus? There seems to be some commotion
going on on that ship in the distance.
Suddenly, a voice called
to him from behind. The man turned around to face a fairy hovering in
the air. "Ah, hello. I remember seeing you on the ship," he nodded with a
small smile. "I've been worse, thank you. But this is not the best time
to chat. Something's not right over there," he nodded over to the
distance.
Dao took a running leap and landed on the the ship
directly in front of him. It creaked and groaned for only a moment, for
the man was off onto the next vessel. The closer he got towards his
destination, the more focused the picture ahead became. Vess and a
bloody Quint...pirates and an angry Maximus...
He drew his two
blades as he hurtled towards the first undead pirate. One swift strike
removed its head, while bringing the butterfly swords down lopped off
the two arms. "Oi! How is Quint?" he shouted at Vess as another zombie
turned its attention towards him. Dao shoved it away with a punch in the
face before slashing at its chest. "Should we bring him back to the
ship?"
Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:02 pm
"No! We can't move him!"
Vess was working feverishly. A man with a stab
wound to the chest wasn't supposed to live long at all. Pivlic was all
of a sudden by her side, and she felt safe, even in the middle of this
disaster. Maximus, Glenn and Dao were making mince meat of the undead.
And then the old man came and gave her her bag.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Heh. Seems like you kids are in a damn hurry,
these days."

He hobbled over
to where Vess ha dropped her bag, and picked it up.

"Hmmm... I suppose she might need this."

He hobbled across the makeshift bridge the
little girl had made and one the next ship. He looked for something to
push aside to make his way to the battle ground, but found very little.
He stroked his beard momentarily. Where was that big lug when you needed
him. What had he said his name was, anyhow? Minimus, or something of
that sort. Some incomprehensible name from a bumpkin town in the middle
of nowhere, that's for sure.

In the end, he realized he was
looking at the problem the wrong way. He waited a little bit, and then
when the current pushed the ships together, it was only a short hop.

"So what did you say your name was? At what in the
name of the Almighty are you? You look like Yuletide decorations."

He hopped to the next ship. The thing, who
explained to him he was a fairy, said his name was Hobb. Well that was
ridiculous. Mordechai briefly considered the option that he had gone mad
or even died when the Goron broke into his cell; Fairies are supposed
to be imaginary, every sane citizen in every port he had ever been to in
close to 40 years at sea agreed to that. And yet, here was one named
Hobb, and one named Pivlic, insisting that they were real, and trying to
help him.

When he reached the ship, he found three people
defending the girl as she tried to mend the body of a boy about twice
her age. Mordechai supposed he really was in the company of barbarians,
who made their youth ruthless warriors, and put their children in
danger. He set the bag beside the girl.

"This might be useful."

She sqealed, dove into it, and pulled out a bottle
of what was undoubtedly chu extract. Maybe these herbal remedies had
something to them, after all. She crammed it into the boys mouth.

(With
this, I think we're all caught up.)

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:02 pm

Geez, this is all
it takes to bring you down? That's quite depressing.

Calden!

All your friends are still fighting, and you're sitting around. I
thought the war would've toughened you up...

Glenn
looked around, he was standing up now, everything was pure light around
him, and he could barely make out his brother's figure.

But... I...

There are no excuses! You're making me ashamed to
have lost to you...

You're
right. Before I return to them... Can I ask you a question?

Hm...?

Calden's figure slowly
faded out of view for Glenn, but he managed to ask his question.

Why did you...?

Calden
simply laughed. Deep down Glenn knew he was just having a conversation
with himself, but he wanted to believe that Calden was reaching out for
him... He shook his head and sighed.

--------------------

Glenn
opened his eyes to see the side of the two ships he had landed in
between. He stood up and heard the commotion a top the ship he had just
plunged off from. He grabbed onto the side of the hull and began
climbing until he reached the top.

He collapsed once again on the
deck, but did not drift to sleep this time. He looked around and saw
that all the pirates had been defeated. Behind him was Robert, still
awaiting them.

So... Any
ideas?

An Arghtastic Battle Empty Re: An Arghtastic Battle

Post by Bob-Kyle Tue Apr 20, 2010 12:03 pm

Quint stood in a black void, unable to see anything. He looked around
though he saw nothing but darkness.

"Personally,
I don't see what we see in her..."

Quint looked
around to hear where the voice was coming from, but saw nothing still.

"Who are you? Heck...WHERE are you?"

"I'm your conscience, dumb ass. At
least...the evil half. Your good half would be with me, but he's away at
the moment."

A look of confusion drew itself upon
Quints face.

"I have a good
half?"

"Of course. If
you didn't, you wouldn't be loving and protecting Lilah. Plus, someone
has to stand between you and...erm...HIM"

Quint,
still confused, looked around again to see what his bad self was
talking about.

"Right, I'm back.
What'd I miss?"

"Oh,
not much. He's entered his conscience now. I was just about to tell him
about how Helshezags still here."

"WHAT?!"

Quint thought he
must have misheard. How could Helshezag, or at least, a remnant of him
still be within his mind? he had destroyed the sword that connected him
to Helshezag, which should have removed him completely...

"Hey don't be alarmed, I locked the bastard up
in the back of your mind. Though he's gotten a bit stronger since Lilah
was captured. All you need to do is not get so worked up about it.
Seriously, last time you got so worked up about a lover, you succumbed
to his power thinking it would help you save her, though all that did
was cause you to cut the Zora population in half..."

Quint
could remember what happened. When Rook was in possession of the sword,
it corrupted him and gave him the power to nearly destroy Naraku, let
alone any normal Gerudo. However, luckily, they had managed to get the
blade off of him, and Quint had picked it up. He had felt the power rush
through him, coursing through his veins. He had resisted it at first,
but Rook, still corrupted, murdered Pearl, while Quint and Naraku stood
by.

That had sparked it. It gave Helshezag the chance to corrupt
Quint, and gave him immense, though dangerous power. Unfortunately,
Rook had gotten away, and Quint, corrupted and wielding mass amounts of
destructive power, went on a rampage on the Zora race, punishing them
for giving birth to a bastard like Rook who killed the one person Quint
ever loved...until now.

"Anyways,
do as I said, and try not to worry so much. And also, try not to listen
to your evil half next time you end up like this. He wants Helshezags
power, hence why I'm the only one who's keeping him locked up.
Now...rise and shine!"

"Wait,
what?!"

Suddenly Quint was blinded by a flash of
light...

------

Quints eyes snapped open, waking up to a
horrid taste in his mouth. He no longer felt the pain of the wound that
the pirate had stabbed him, only an ache. He sat up, and noticed a pile
of dead pirates lying around him, then looked at Vess and noticed she
had her bag now.

"Wow Vess, I
don't remember your potions tasting so vile last time."
Quint
said, regaining his senses.

"Erm...Quint.
It wasn't Vess who gave you that potion thing, it was Mordechai."

Hob said, as he flew over to Quint.

"Who?"

Hob pointed to the old man
standing a few inches from them.

"...Who
the hell are you?"
